Movie not needed even more so without Will Smith.

Without Will I am not happy, but the prospect of them replacing him with a "new Will Smith" (hot young Black newcomer) is very enticing!

They could always just say Will Smith's new role was his kid that was in the first movie, and tie that together.

Will Smith didn't say he's too good for it. They said he's too expensive for the film. When a start gets to a certain level in their career their expected pay increases as well. If they can't afford his regular rates for a film they avoid putting him into the film. When actors have lots of success their rates go up. It's just part of the industry.

I do agree. You expect and assume he will be starring in it with the great Jeff Goldblum. It just doesn't seem right for him to not be involved. No matter how expensive his price tag is, Will is a moneymaker. The only reason After Earth has flopped is because Jaden's entitled ass was being forced down everyone's throats. If it was an actual actor portraying his son in the film, it would've grossed a lot more than it did. He is worth the price tag, and people will rightfully be disappointed to learn he is not involved.

But like I said the possibility of creating a huge career for a hot young talented Black actor - possibly portraying his brother/son - is very exciting and an idea I think many would be willing to accept and support.
