The Stuebenville rapist boys from not too long ago weren't even charged as adults at 16 and 17 years old (and what they did was also intentional) after raping the girl, taking and distributing photos, and calling her a ***** on twitter. And they damn well should have been charged as adults.

I wouldn't assume total accuracy on the detective's part on his representation of the boy. And everyone handles things differently even if they may feel the same way. It would be worth much more to actually see the interview footage, if it was recorded (that's standard procedure, isn't it?)
