Several times it happened to me in the same store. It was embarrassing but I kept my class and waited for the employees to check me if I stole anything. I walked away with dignity while eyes are still prowling on my behind as if I stole one **** from that store. I don't even know why but it's like a rerun when I always go to that store that the people who're running it decided that I'm just one of those unfortunate few who could ring the alarm without me doing anything actually.
Yes, over here they beep a lot when no one even stole anything. I've never stolen anything, so I never waited for someone to come and check me out if it happened to me. A lot of the times no one even checks it out. If it happens I just walk out with my head held high, because I know I didn't do anything wrong. I'm not gonna waste my time proving my innocence, because I'm innocent until proven guilty
Sometimes, but they never do anything about it. It's always just, "Oh, it might be a zipper or something, you're good." And then I'm on my way. Even in electronics stores and stores with expensive jewelry and fragrances.
I don't steal, but suppose I did? Why don't they care?
Yes, but that's because I put a candy bar in my Moms pocket when I was 8 without her knowing. Nowadays if that happens they just let us walk out because there is normally something wrong with their security alarm things.
I have a few time like at H&M and one time they had left one of those big like beige tags on a jacket I bought. Good thing because I would have been annoyed if I went all of the way home and had that mess on my jacket. Other than that if I beep I just check my bag to make sure and then I keep it moving.
I have a friend who used to work at a bunch of different stores (Target, retail stores, Disneyland stores etc.) and she also happened to be a major kleptomaniac. She told me that it's not really economically viable for stores to put those sensors in all their products and they generally only put them on higher-priced stuff. She said those things at the entrance are mostly just for show, kind of like those people that buy security system signs for their yards but don't own the actual system. I've literally seen this girl stuff handfuls of panties into her purse and walk out with no problem.
This was a few years ago though, things might have changed.

They use dummy sensors to keep people away. When I worked in retail we would place a dummy sensor on the lower priced items and on the mannequins( No one really takes stuff off of mannequins unless they're the last item). The higher stuff like the purses and dresses were all tagged with real sensors, and even then people would still find ways to rip them off and take them out the store .
