What are your song pet peeves?

One of mine is when a song doesn't have a bridge. I think it adds this cohesive element to the song and just brings all the bits and pieces together. Without it, the song could get repetitive.


My list of songs that (to me) had potential but had no bridges (which annoyed me mildly):

I dont hear it as much anymore, but I absolutely hate it when the beat changes to something that sounds like a relief (for lack of a better word) during the bridge. It usually happened in 90's/early 00's songs. It doesn't happen nearly as much anymore.

Songs with unnessacery features a d intros. Also I hate when a song basically just repeats the chorus and has very little lyrics.

Tacky producer shoutouts. I think Dev's greatest hit is the "IiiiiIiIiIIIiits The Cataracs" tag she recorded and they stick on every damn song.

You get your money, sit down.

"Jason Derulo..." But I love some of his songs.
Very long fades
Spelling

All the RedOne shoutouts on the songs he produces should geaux.

Generic beats
When a song features nice sounding guitars and those don't get a solo

Except for the one in Just Dance.

That one is iconic.

Any song where the word "leggo" or "swag" features as a lyric.

True. I also hate when a song repeats the first(and only, technically) verse after the chorus.

(Zedd) Spectrum

Most of the time when a song changes beat for the verses and the chorus.

Example: Suoernatural by Ke$ha

When the singer laughs in the song It annoys me so much

Spelling of the title. For example when they use 'U' instead of 'You'.

When the beat overpowers the f*cking voice *cough the soundcloud version of Yung Rapunxel and Le1f's Spa Day*

In terms of pop music, repetitive lyrics, especially if the chorus is just made up of one line, or worse, 1 syllable like lalalala, etc.

And I'm not really a big fan when they mention their own names in their songs.

I-V-vi-IV chord progressions. Good GOD, I'm sick of them.

Random bass/beat drops and generic guitar chord progressions in pop songs.

A song without a bridge.
