We all know how these two categories are highly looked upon in the industry but which is the bigger and most highly coveted award? Also, don't decide quickly by basing on obvious reasons like AOTY being the last award to be given every Grammy night
Record of the Year is listed first on the billing, but Album of the Year is always the last award presented on the telecast. At one point, they were on equal level & some even believed ROTY was higher, but look at all the artists who strive to win AOTY - Kanye being a good example. Also, Taylor was considered the 'big winner' in 2011, even though Beyonce won six awards, just because she won AOTY and three other awards.
