We are very fortunate here on ATRL to have the sleekest designed pop forum online. If we were to take the next step in modern design, it would be cool to make the avatars a larger size and remove all the clutter underneath it. (Personally, I don't care for bragging about location, number of blog entries, or what color scheme I'm using.)

What do you think? Sometimes I think we like to get very creative with how our avatars look and 125x125 can just be too small.

Bigger avatars would just screw with the layout of the forum. It's not worth it.

Really? I feel like it would still fit in that section and just fill up more of that empty white/gray space. You probably know more about the layout than I do though

Through being here for over ten years, really. And being a mod, I guess. Either or works.

As for the avatars, you raise a good point about the empty space, but I guess my main thing is I wonder if the empty space IS a design choice and not just empty space for the sake of empty space.

That, and I could argue that anything above 150x150 is going to put the focus more on the avatars than on the posts, and that's something that should never happen.

I thik this size is perfect.

ATRL is already perfect layout-wise

125x125 really is the perfect size.

Check out the Taylor connect forum, oversized avatars, huge graphics in signatures, when you quote someone you quote the huge signature too. MESS. MESS. MESS.

Maybe something to look into for vB5 but we're focusing on getting the server functional at the moment lol

See, while that's bigger, I think it's better than 200x200. This 150 pixel size still fits within the borders currently attributed to the user identification part of the post, which itself I feel should remain the same rather than be stretched and shrink or alter the actual post area. So long as it fits in that area with vB4 and eventually vB5, I'd like to see the staff consider that size at least as a possibility, because it looks better now than I had imagined earlier.
