Muslims are often intelligent when they're of educated backgrounds; it has nothing to do with their religion, but rather their socio-economic status. Most South Asian Muslims like Bangladeshis and Pakistanis definitely aren't educated in science or progressive. In fact, the people who are mostly likely to be educated in Bangladesh are their Hindu minorities.
As for Islam being the religion most likely to keep up with science, I'm not too sure about. All faiths urge believers to learn and seek knowledge, but it doesn't mean people actually do.
