Every now and then I get into this moment where I have to talk to a person who is cross eyed. And I never know how to look at them. I hate to be rude and not look at them, but I don't wanna be rude and look at that one eye. It's so hard cause it makes this awkward for me so I look around and quickly try to get out of the conversation.

As other have said, look them right between the eyes so you're looking at them, but not looking anywhere in particular.
