He may have come second in the 2012 series of The X Factor, but Jahméne Douglas is set to beat winner James Arthur to the stores with the release of his debut album.
Jahméne, who was mentored by Number 1 solo artist and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger on the show, has announced an album of cover versions entitled Love Never Fails, out July 22.
The first single will be a cover of the David Guetta and Sia Number 1 smash, Titanium. Other covers on the album include reworkings of Beyoncé’s Halo and Emeli Sandé’s Next To Me.
An X Factor alum releasing a covers album is the label's way of throwing them to the wolves by basically guaranteeing commercial failure so they have an excuse to drop them after one album and focus on their commercial successes like One Direction.
I mean I like Jahmene, but I am not here for covers, so the only reason I support this release is because of the inclusion of Nicole, I guess more people will be because of that reason.
