The Japan/Korean music market seek to have huge digital bursts at the first week, rather than extend a single's life over the course of 18-24 weeks (average for rest of the world). That's why when the song's are released, they already have the music video ready to premiere, the planned promotions already set up to be done and over with. Thus huge first weeks and then declines so they can move on to the next song.
