Gone was a Official Single?

All I know is that it peaked at #77 on Pop Radio.

I heard that Gone was not released due to its similarities to SUBG. A real shame, I would have chosen Gone over Walk Away as the final single.

she didnt release it but radio likes it more than walkaway so some rado stations played it and still do play it instead of walkaway

It never reached the hot 100; it only charted on Pop 100, where it peaked at #77.

He/she said that because he/she didn't start the thread. The third poster was the one who started the thread, but I don't know why London's appeared first.

I don't think "Gone" was an official single, but it really was great, however, like someone said before, the blatant likeness to "Since U Been Gone" was too great for it to achieve greater success.

"Gone" was originally going to be released as the 3rd/4th single (depending on if you decide to count "Breakaway" as a single from the album or not) after "Because of You." Radio had already started to pick up on it and play it, which allowed it to chart on pop charts. However, RCA/BMG decided that being it was quite similar to "Since U Been Gone" (plus the fact that people might get confused because of the similarity in the names of the songs), and decided to release "Walk Away"... hope this clears up any confusion

I read an article, which stated the label had picked all of her singles and that Clarkson was given the chance to pick for the last one. She said Walk Away was her favorite track. Also, I don't really consider Breakaway an official single of Breakaway since the song was released almost 4 months before the album hit stores. I believe Clarkson’s release date was even pushed back all the way to November due to the massive success of Breakaway . I assume they did it to add the song to the album?
