Breaking: Fighter jets escorting plane to London Stansted

AF fighter jets are escorting a Pakistan Interntional Airlines aircraft from Manchester Airport to Stansted Airport.
The airline has confirmed it is for security reasons. There are understood to be 297 passengers on board.
The plane was heading west towards Manchester when it was suddenly re-routed near York and headed back out to the North Sea, before travelling south to Stansted.
Essex Police have confirmed that an incident has occurred on board and police are responding.
The newsreader just said that if planes are diverted in the South they get sent to Stansted as it's the smallest London airport and is also situated in a less densely populated area than Heathrow and Gatwick
