Beyoncé may not be pregnant with a second child, but she is apparently ready to birth some new music.
Though she’s been teasing bits and pieces of different trackw (theoretically from a forthcoming album that has no title or release date), there hasn’t been a full new Bey song—until now.
“Grown Woman,” which was previewed a little ways back via a Pepsi spot, made its way online late last night. It’s clearly a leak, since the various streams of the track have been rapidly taken down over the course of the morning, but for now you can listen below (or if all else fails, stream it here). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en0ftVmi7HE&w=510
There’s a lot of “Run the World (Girls)” embedded in “Grown Woman,” especially in the sense that it trades on the double-time drums and a whole lot of circles back to the refrain (you know, like “Dude Looks Like a Lady”). It even flips the gender politics of Snoop Dogg’s “Ain’t No Fun.” All these drum-centric jiggles seem to be trying to recapture the magic of “Single Ladies,” but it still feels like there’s something missing here.
Beyonce is currently finishing up the last leg of a giant European tour, and she’ll be coming back to the U.S. for a run through the nation’s hockey arenas starting June 28 in Los Angeles.
What do you think of “Grown Woman”?
The underlying elements are definitely there.
Do we agree with EW?
Now that I know the version that leaked was the pre-recorded vocals she uses during the tour, I'll wait until the official studio version to leak before I judge.

Really? Who confirmed that the leak was the pre-recorded vocals that she uses during the tour?
Doesn't mean she doesn't have a powerful backing track to blast while she struts her stuff doing the new and ground breaking choreo during GW. And regardless of whether or not these are vocals recorded for tour, it surely can't be too far away from the studio version.
my brother in law is part of beyonce marketing team, at this point they are considering screw this a future single because of the premature leak. beyonce is hella mad and shes determined to find and sued the retard who leaked it. money talk after all
The same reason why you enter posts of artists you don't like. It's ATRL, get over it.
Similar reasons, yes, but there is a big difference between reading posts in a thread of an artist you don't like and CREATING a thread about an artist you don't like.
Yes something is missing, but that isn't a negative thing for me. It's actually what makes me like the song more. It's missing a big melodic catchy chorus. Everyone has gotten so used to the typical pop song structure that when they hear anything different, it must be WRONG. I find it kind of funny actually.
People are so confused like "IS THIS THE FIRST VERSE? IS THIS A CHORUS? WHERE'S THE FU*KING CHORUS? WHERE'S THE EDM BREAKDOWN? I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS! TAKE IT AWAY!"
Like, just go back to your Nicki Minaj and One Direction and stop complaining.
