BEYONCE KNOWLES' manager father MATHEW is taking credit for the success of former DESTINY'S CHILD singer LeTOYA LUCKETT's debut album, claiming he taught her about hard work during her days in the girl group. Luckett joined the band in 1993, but quit in December 1999, shortly after the release of the girls' sophomore album THE WRITING'S ON THE WALL, which featured the hits SAY MY NAME, JUMPIN', JUMPIN'; and BILLS, BILLS, BILLS. Luckett and bandmate LaTAVIA ROBERSON, who also left the group at the same time, claimed Mathew was keeping a disproportionate share of the band's profits, was too controlling, and unfairly favoured his daughter and the group's fourth singer KELLY ROWLAND. In 2000, Luckett and Roberson attempted to sue Beyonce and Rowland, before dropped the case, and eventually settled a legal battle with Mathew. When Mathew heard of Luckett's long-awaited success with her self-titled disc, which topped the US album charts earlier this month (AUG06), he insists he was pleased for her, despite past animosity. He says, "I couldn't help but smile. I'm proud of her and her work ethic, something I know comes from DC's early boot camp days."

Somebody on some ******** because last time I checked, LeToya & that other girl were FIRED, they didn't quit. And the only sucess LeToya has had is through Urban Radio.

The ONLY thing Matthew Knoles can take credit for is totally ruining Kelly's chances for being s sucessful solo artist

Just a few short years ago he was talking about how lazy they were while in DC, so IF that was true (which clearly ain't true) that would mean his camps didn't do ****, and Toya's current success is the the result of something else.

Now, IF Toya's success did come solely from her days in DC's boot camps, then Kelly would have had something remotely close to the success Toya has already had. Since Kelly truly hasn't done ****, then that would mean either those camps aren't as effective as he claims OR, once again, Toya's success is the result of something else.

This is definately something that I'd hear from papa knowles.

But... There's no source or anything reliable , it's sooo made up by contact music (AS ALWAYS).

And where the hell is that Letoya success? She had like one good week for her album and fell down. Her single is flopping right now and it only peaked on #34. She's so damn overrated & people talk about a success that doesn't even exist. LMFAO.

That was a misprint, LaTavia is the one they meant to call tone-deaf. Vibe corrected their mistake. And I agree with Mazen.
