I so thought Mariah or Madonna would win Best Female! They were nominated and Madonna's CD was the best selling female album in Asia last year I heard while Mariah's We Belong Together did really well in Asia so they seemed really likely to win

actually most of kellys songs did well in asia..urm Shakira did well in asia too i think some of the new rappers are doing well too..and i dont think its soo much of pop now..not sure tho..

Doesn't Japan have its own Video Music Awards??? I'm pretty sure I saw them once (2004, I think...) and Missy Eliott won the Video of the Year award for "Work It"... whihc struck me as odd.

Namie Amuro...hmm...she is kk I guess, but compared to the R&B scene over here, I find her to be very generic. Over there though, she must be a overly different.
