I amde a thread about this on August 15th, but it was deleted.
Who else saw it? I thought it was a decent movie. It was obviously just destroyed in teh editing room for that Oh So Sweet PG-13 Rating. But it ended up fine. I do pray for a DIrectors Cut DVD. Since apparently 30 minutes of scenes were cut and they had to film filler scenes just so the movie would make sense. The R-Rated version is probably a genius movie.
Possible Spoilers (I Doubt It Though)
However the Theatrical movie that I saw just didn't flow right. I did however still love the movie. Kristen Bell is really the only character they get you invested in. The rest of the cast is made up of great actors. But the rest of the characters, excluding Ian Somerlander, are pretty thin and literally fade away. Christina Milian wasn't given much to do. Her demise was pretty abrupt as well. I felt she was underused, maybe the PG-13 editing's fault?
The whole idea is great though. Computers, phones, & electronics are actually what's working against them. What's coming fo rthem is never fully explained, but I get teh general idea. I thought the movie was going to end several times. I would have loved for it to end in the big Death Orgy (Those who have seen should know what I mean) But it ends in a post-apacolypic world. I didn't love the ending, but I guess it's all that could make sense considering the lack of other things the characters could do.
I'd give it a strong 7.5/10 verging on 8/10. So like 3 and a half out of 5 stars, or 3/4 stars. I'm sure the unrated version will be miles better.
