Exactly what I said in the last Snow Patrol thread which seems to be deleted but I still love "Chasing Cars." In fact, I picked "Eyes Open" up today along with Aguilera & The Fray but because my parents came home from Europe today, I didn't get the chance to listen to them.
It seems like "Eyes Open" has a lot of singles that try to emulate what 'Run' was able to accomplish, and the chord it struck with music listeners when it became a hit in 2004.
Out of all the tracks that do try, 'Chasing Cars' does the best job; and it's shaping up to be their first big North American single, digital sales and initial airplay are strong.
Snoooooze on this track. But You're All I Have has the makings of becoming a Modern rock classic. I was stunned by the writing the first time I heard You Could Be Happy. The single with Martha Wainwright is pretty strong too. But Chasing Cars just has no flow or sense.
^LMAO but I wouldn't describe it as "too emo." If that was the case then I wouldn't like it lol. Eyes Open is a good album, but yes, it gets rather depressing to listen to.
