I think if you have different artists for each song a soundtrack they would.
I think they would count them as different albums from different artists such as Beyonce - "4" and say Jay-Z - "4" instead of them being on the same Soundtrack.
It makes logical sense too, so every artist w/ albums of the same name don't have their albums added together.
No, if you have iTunes, just put in the singer(s) of the song on the artist box and leave the Various Artists in the album artist.
Well this is what I do now and it's a mess.

Well yeah. I think it's unsolvable as of right now

do you tag every song with various artists as the actual artist name though?
For artist's in iTunes (for example Great Gatsby OST) it would be "Lana Del Rey" and then in the album artist it's "Various Artists" and then the album is "The Great Gatsby (Music from Baz Luhrmann's Film) [Deluxe Edition]" so on last.fm they're sorted by album all together and not as separate artists. But Cruel Summer is annoying because of "Kanye West, JAY Z & Big Sean" like they're all on the artist line as opposed to "Clique (feat. JAY Z and Big Sean) so I have 12 albums on last.fm called Cruel Summer, all from different artists

Basically.

"Various Artists" scrobbling works on iTunes & last.fm scrobbler v. 2.1.35 (It never worked on previous versions)
-
Imagine Dragons is tagged as the track artist,
Looks like this on your library: Imagine Dragons - Ready Aim Fire
[Your last.fm url] + library/music/Imagine+Dragons/_/Ready+Aim+Fire
while Various Artists is tagged as the album artist:
Looks like this on your library: Various Artists - Iron Man 3: Heroes Fall
[Your last.fm url] + library/music/Various+Artists/Iron+Man+3:+Heroes+Fall
The plays that have already been scrobbled can't be unified. You can only change the tags to make future scrobbles unified. However, you'd have to change the artist to "Various Artists", and then you would not get the individual artist scrobbles. If you want to keep every artist's name, then the plays can only be unified under the album like they already are now.
