Islam and the Middle east in general been a target for a long time and you only see people make excuses to it, whether its the place we live in, our traditions or our new age methods.

A lot of people think that we come from a desert (well we are surrounded by it)

There is a lot countries like the beautiful Lebanon, Oman, Jordan and Morocco. not all countries are in war cause the situation is not always like that

About the religion, we have Jews and Christians who live at the same country and we have no problem with each other.

Its rare to see proud ones these days because of all the hate we receive.

It really is sad how negative stereotypes of the Middle East pervade Western culture. I've never been to the Middle East personally but many areas of it seem like some of the most beautiful places in the world.

And why do Middle Easterners hate all Westerners?

I don't discriminate, but it still does get very awkward when someone of Middle Eastern descent comes on the train or something, especially when they're wearing traditional clothing. It shouldn't be that way though...

I just spent a month in the middle east. The people there were the friendiest I have ever met, and it was beautiful.

Now, there was some tension between muslims & christians well I was there.

Trust me the Arabs and Westerners who hate each other are controlled by their media, in my country the show us stupid an educated Americans and vise versa.

i personally studied in the US i can tell that i have not faced any form of racism and the people are amazing.

And about the cloth, its a choice not religion forced.

My father was a Muslim and my cousin too. I was always found of it. I think the Middle east is quite beautiful along with the people as well .

Went there and was shocked how normal for Muslims/Arabs to live there.

You should try wearing it sis, its sooo breezy and when the wind hits you feel like Marilyn Monroe.

I thought NY would be the most accepting to be honest.

Yeah it did, tho. 6 people died in the clashes.

Not since 9/11. They are often a target, but its never in your face type of hate. More like a hidden disdain. But its not very widespread, since Muslims do make a portion of the population, especially in the outer boroughs.

After I saw a great documentary, I now fully understand everything. From what I see all these terrorists never actually read the Qu'ran. I wouldn't even call them real Muslims. And many Westerners look down on the Middle East because its commonly thought that people there are oppressed, when that's not the true picture.
