Hey Everybody!

I have been watching some of the music television shows on MTV, BET, VH1, etc. As most of you know, I write as a Janet fan. But, there is something very interesting and disturbing to me regarding MTV and TRL.

When Janet's new video with Nelly "Call On Me" debuted, TRL did not debut it. Now, I figured it was because of a couple of reasons: (1) They did not think it would appeal to their audience; (2) they didn't like the song; (3) people did not request it - so too bad. I figured everyone has their opinion.

But, then I went on TRL's website and they have every video under the sun, from Madonna to Busta Rhymes and do not even offer the choice of Janet with Nelly, mind you. I may be just a fan who makes these observations, but don't you find it mighty strange that she is not on anything, but Justin's SexyBack is promoted?

I would just like your feedback....what do you think? If I am wrong, hey - it won't be the first time. But, it strikes me as a very strange thing....

well. the song isn't too good and the video kinda sucks so maybe that's the reason why it's no on the list. Though it's very possible that MTV has blacklisted Janet.

It does suck but it's better than "Ain't No Other Man" ,"Public Affair" , "Me & U" & "Chemical Reacts" all together.

ANYWAYS, I hope she does something for MTV to get back to their white list. She REALLY needs MTV.

I mean a VMA performance would have been such a bless on her. But look how they are teasing her with letting Beyonce & Xtina perform.

COM and it's video are great. I don't give damn about what you all think.

Anyway, MTV banned her. They're assholes like that.

Well, I disagree that the song sucks or the video sucks. The video is one of the most creative. But, if you think it does, look at the other videos on the list that TRL offers. Some of them are really horrid! I am thinking they blacklisted her.

Interestingly, I don't think Janet needs MTV. It is amazing - one day, they crown her their first MTVIcon. The next, they blacklist her (probably for the SB incident that they were not totally blind to before it happened). Just interesting...I look forward to hearing more thoughts....

I think you hit the nail right there. The SB disaster that...for all I know it's not her fault.' That's what we gotta look at it here.

Well quality shouldn' t be the issue in question. Whether a video and its song are quality material is up to the consumer/viewers to decide. MTV should only serve as an oultet for the people to hear the music, in an ideal world.

It is obvious they aren't playing Janet because of the Super Bowl incident. It isn't fair because Justin Timberlake is still receiving a fair amount of promotion. In a way, I think they feel that they have stars like Beyonce and Rihanna to feel that niche that Janet forged and created. The sultry, black female pop star . . . she will always be an icon, whether the industry chooses to recognize that or not is their own loss.

I still think there was something behind the SP incident that we didn't see /didn't know. There's money involved. Janet didn't pay her cheque, she got blacklisted.

Well last year, they added All Night (Don't Stop) to the voting list MONTHS after the release of that video..

Call On Me sucks but the video is good. She really does need MTV so her album can do well.

I don't listen to Janet nor Justin, but I think it's not about if the song sucks or not. If Janet's supposedly banned, Justin should be too. That's all.

I heard that Justin sent MTV a recorded apology and Janet refused to do it.

I think Justin apologized and Janet didn't about the whole incident? I REALLY wish they would play "Call On Me". It's so much better than most of the songs on the countdown

I hope that isn't the case because the video isn't too bad. It's sad, really. Janet is always underrated. In the first 10 years of her career she was deep, drowned in her brother's shadow. After that, her albums didn't do that well. It's tragic. She's a lot better than a lot of the celebs out there now.

No she wasn't. She's 2nd at least in my opinion You probably know who I think is the first. But janet's a big icon nonetheless

I hope TRL doesnt premiere Call On Me. This song is so bad

I don't think they banned her because they play "Call On Me" on VH1 which is MTV's sister network. Most likely they will play "Call On Me"

I love COM, it's a beautiful song with a perfect video.

And MTV Hits is playing it, TRL will ignore her as they do with most of the "Not made for teens" music.

But who cares about TRL, This album will do better than her last one.
