Wow... I just got out of a midnight showing of this film, and I am still a bit shaken. This movie is incredibly effective as a horror and the director knows exactly how to scare you. He builds the movie up by first introducing general fears such as darkness and claustrophobia, and then in one of the most genuinely creepy scenes introduces the mosters that live below. As the characters descend further in to the depths of the cave, so do their minds; they resort to being as primal and savage as the creatures in order to surivive (or do they?). With homages to Carrie and Alien, this will definitely please horror fans. It's been getting amazing reviews over at rottentomatoes (90 %, which is AMAZINGLY good for a horror movie which tend to run in the 50 or 60 % range if their decent).
