Dizzee Rascal f/ Robbie Williams - "Goin' Crazy"
Quote:
Robbie Williams has recorded a duet with Dizzee Rascal.
'Goin' Crazy' will be the lead single from the rapper's upcoming new album The Fifth, reports The Sun.
The pair filmed the Quadrophenia-themed video for the track in London yesterday (May 1), involving several "blinged-up" carts and mobility scooters.
Elvis Presley, John Lennon and Grace Jones lookalikes were also seen on set among others.
Williams said of the collaboration: "I was expecting Dizzee to come round to my place in LA for an hour. He got round at 6pm, we chatted for hours and he left at 6am. Then he said he wanted the song to sound like Queen. It was a great night."
He added: "I have never been so urban. When I heard Dizzee wanted me, I was like, 'F*k* yes!'
"He only deals in bangers and life is getting shorter for me. The song instantly sounded like a smash. I love his vibe, his energy and he is a real talent. He seems to be the voice of this generation, so it was a no-brainer."
Dizzee Rascal said: "As soon as I heard Quadrophenia, I was signed up for the video idea. The mods and rockers idea is right up my street.
"Having Robbie involved has been good. When his name came up, I was excited about it. We went to his house to record it. It's not often on these things you sit in the same studio any more.
"He told me some amazing stories. We really vibed. I'd love to sit with him and Ian Brown and listen to their stories all day. They are two of the best people I've ever met."
'Goin' Crazy' will receive its first play from 8.15am across selected national and regional breakfast shows next Friday (May 10), and is released on June 17.
