I was discussing going vegetarian in the future with a friend, and she said ''what about plants?'' and I thought ''do plants have feelings though?'' and then she came across this:
I don't believe they feel pain the same way humans do as they lack a brain and central nervous system that allows them to experience it as we do, but I don't doubt there's a mechanism within even the most biologically "simple" of lives to retreat from dangerously stimuli (which is the general function pain serves us as humans).
Nope, they don't feel anything, and even if they did they'd just have to deal with it. I'm not going to drop dead just so a poor head of lettuce doesn't get hurt.
