The terror attack at the Boston Marathon left more than 180 injured and three people dead, with the manhunt for the two suspects also leading to the death of a police officer.

Lopez spoke about the tragedy to ET Online, explaining that any film about the incident would need to be handled sensitively.

"They're delicate subjects because there is so much emotion that surrounds them. It has to be done in the right way, just like anything else," the 'On the Floor' singer commented.

She continued: "At the end of the day it's such a tragic thing and so unthinkable. You would think it would make for a great movie, but at the end of the day it has to be handled in a certain way to be great."

Lopez compared any potential adaptation to her hit movie Selena, which told the story of the slain popstar.

"When I did the movie Selena, we did it two years after she passed away. A year after [she passed away] I was being cast for the movie," she recalled.

"And it was such a tragedy for her family and for the music community. I don't know. It's something you have to just feel out. We'll wait and see [about a Boston film]."

Selena's blockbuster release in 1997 launched Lopez to superstardom and earned her a 'Best Actress' Golden Globe nomination.

Stupid comment to make, and wtf is all the fuss about the Boston bombings?

I know it is tragic and RIP to those who died, but seriously?! America drops bombs on the middle east on a daily basis, kills many innocent civilians, but as soon as someone dates to do that to America, it is just so unbelievable?

I'm not condoning it at all, and my heart goes out to the innocent people affected by this, but why is it such big news? Surely 9/11 and 7/7 would be made into films first?
