Model and Bad Boy recording artist Cassie Ventura hit the streets of Los Angeles for our latest Forever LA x Cassie for Summer 2013 campaign. A true beauty through and through, the gorgeous gal was a total sport (she jumped into the 30 degree ocean for us!) and had a smile that would melt even the most cynical of hearts. (Yep, she’s that amazing.) Peep some behind the scenes snaps from the shoot and check out what our muse Cassie had to say about Kate Moss, bold haircuts and all things LA!
The five words that pop into my head when I think of LA… Sunshine, palm trees, ocean, studio, and… Disneyland!
Behind the Shoot… I knew I was going to get partially in the water, but I didn’t know how much. I was actually submerged in it! What made me feel really good though was that everybody got in the water. Everybody was soaking wet head to toe. I felt like we all came together.
Favorite Outfit at the Shoot… I really liked the look where I was on the bike that reminded me of Mr. Cartoon and I had the lace veil. That was a really cool look!
Most memorable F21 shopping trip… I had the best Forever 21 shopping experience when I was in New York and me and my best friends went crazy. It’s a best friend store! I think we bought a lot of the same clothes: t-shirts and print leggings.
It’s sooo LA when… Everyone’s wearing high-waisted cutoff shorts!
Style influences… The music industry has definitely influenced my style. I’ve taken more chances. Be it my hair or how baggy I want to wear my pants, I’m inspired by so many other artists and people. So when I see something I like, I like to try it in my own way.
Collab I’m dying to do… I LOVE Lana Del Rey! I love the way she writes and her swag.
Style icon… Kate Moss. She’s just so effortless.
My bold + iconic haircut… I had long, big curly hair for so many years and I just wanted to try something different. I actually didn’t have the intentions of shaving so much hair but when I went there I wanted to go all the way and kind of land in punk. The next day I woke up and I was like “OMG, what did I do?!” but slowly over the next few weeks got more comfortable in it. Your hair doesn’t define you. Wear your hair how you feel.
Fashion is… About confidence and not letting your clothes wear you – you wear your clothes. Just belonging in what you wear. It has to be your thing.
