Ke$ha & MTV partner for anti-bully campaign
Quote:
MTV today announced it has named global pop megastar, Ke$ha (Kesha.MTV.com) to serve as a celebrity ambassador for its Love is Louder campaign, in partnership with The Jed Foundation, which aims to support anyone feeling mistreated, misunderstood or alone. Beginning today, fans can take part in a Love is Louder social media campaign to raise the volume on messages of love and tolerance.
To commemorate the announcement, MTV has just released a never-before-seen clip from the forthcoming series "Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life," in which Ke$ha comforts one of her bullied fans, after revealing she herself was bullied growing up and throughout her career. To watch the clip, click here.
"Bullying impacts the lives of millions of young adults on a daily basis," said Ke$ha. "As someone who's been bullied my entire life, I know first-hand how this type of victimization can destroy lives and relationships. It is imperative that we empower kids and teens to stop bullying."
To kick off the partnership, MTV and Ke$ha are asking her fans to submit photos with the words "Love is Louder" spotlighted prominently via Facebook and Twitter using the #loveislouder hashtag. Ke$ha will hand select her favorite photos which will then be featured at the end of an episode #3 of "Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life," on May 7 which profiles the bullying she has endured during the course of her career. Additionally, the photos will be featured on Ke$ha's social pages, driving to Love Is Louder as a resource.
Separately, fans can tweet in what they think love is louder than using the #loveislouder hashtag and Ke$ha will retweet some of her favorites. Several fans participating in the photo or twitter contest could also be chosen to attend her upcoming tour (TEAM KESHA- DO WE WANT TO OFFER THIS PRIZING?). In the coming weeks, Ke$ha will share her own Love is Louder photo on her Artists.MTV.com show page.
Love is Louder was started by actress Brittany Snow, The Jed Foundation and MTV to build on the outpouring of support online after the lives of multiple teenagers were lost to suicide in September 2010. This movement strives to amplify the momentum of other inspiring online campaigns and invite anyone who has felt mistreated, misunderstood or isolated into the conversation. We are here to raise the volume around a critical message -- that love and support is more powerful than the external and internal voices that bring us down, cause us pain and make us feel hopeless.
"Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life" is an intimate, no-limits documentary series taking us inside the world of multi-platinum recording artist Ke$ha as she faces the biggest personal and professional challenges of her life. Shot over the course of two years by her filmmaker brother, Lagan Sebert, the series provides unprecedented behind the scenes access to Ke$ha's life and her coming of age as an artist and young woman. The audience views this incredible journey in real time, and because of the sibling bond of trust, and unprecedented access, there are no filters and no walls, it's all real and raw.
With the show having been shot over the course of two years, viewers will actually witness the emotional and physical change that comes with fame. Throughout the series, Ke$ha strives to meet the expectations set by her initial success, while attempting to find love and have normal relationships while also growing more famous. The show explores family bonds, love, friendship, and the passion of an artist expressing herself thru song. "Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life" will present a truly authentic perspective on what it's like to be a global pop-sensation in their prime.
"Ke$ha: My Crazy, Beautiful Life" marks the latest in long existing relationship between Ke$ha and MTV, which has included a New Year's eve performance in 2012, appearances on MTV Video Music Awards, 10 on Top, and O Music Awards. During the course of her career, Ke$ha has been nominated for 4 VMA awards including best new artist and best pop video.
Along with Lagan, filmmaker Steven Greenstreet followed Ke$ha with a minimal crew capturing both her most public and intimate moments. Partnering with DiGavision founders and former MTV executives Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley to shape the hundreds of hours of footage, the project was initially developed by Ke$ha and Lagan and produced by Lagan Sebert and Sandra Sampayo's Production Company, Magic Seed Productions (Lagan Sebert, Sandra Sampayo, Steven Greenstreet, and Ted Roach). Executive produced by DR LUKE (Lukasz Gottwald), Jack Rovner, Ken Levitan, Lagan Sebert, and Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley. Prod companies: DiGa Vision, Vector Management and Magic Seed productions.
On the heels of her SMASH hit, "Die Young" and recently released sophomore album, Warrior (Kemosabe/RCA Records), global superstar Ke$ha, has announced "C'Mon" as the official second single off of the new album. The single is currently available at all digital music providers. Ke$ha has taken the world by storm since the release of her debut album in Animal in 2010. That year she was declared Billboard's Hot 100 Artist and her SMASH debut single "TiK ToK" was named Billboard's #1 Hot 100 Song, was the most played song of that year, and was the biggest-selling digital track in the world. Ke$ha has had six consecutive Top 10 hits including three #1 singles: "TiK ToK", "Your Love Is My Drug" and "We R Who We R." Her debut album Animal has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide. Ke$ha has toured the world, playing over 200 live shows in support of Animal and its companion album Cannibal. She took home the MTV EMA for Best New Act in November 2010 and was nominated for 2 American Music Awards, 3 MTV VMA Awards and 6 Billboard Awards. She has over 21 million Facebook likes, and over 3 million Twitter followers. She has sold over 24.5 million combined tracks and ringtones in the U.S alone and over 27.5 million worldwide to date. Ke$ha is an international powerhouse, Animal has been certified Gold, Platinum or multi-Platinum in 15 markets (including Platinum in the United States) and was the biggest selling debut album from an international female in 2010 in the UK. Ke$ha is the global ambassador for Casio Baby G and was recently named the first global ambassador for Humane Society International.

I think that's a great cause, and I'd be supportive of her message.
And not EVERY Little Monster hates her.

What is she supposed to do? "OMG my album didn't do well! I hate my life. I'm a flop! I'm worthless.. FML! Somebody kill me!!!"
Shes not going to stop living her life because the general public aren't here for her current album...
There's nothing she can do but get the most she can out of this album then move on to the next era and hopefully present the album (Single choices) better to the public so they are more interested, as the Warrior singles weren't very different from the Animal/Cannibal singles, leading people to believe she hasn't grown at all, when she really has. I think that's where most people lost interest.
