Dutch police have discovered a post on website 4chan, in which a person threatens to shoot his/her Dutch teacher and as many students as possible today. The person even reveals the gun he'll be using and he claims that he'll be carrying a letter that explains why he did it. In addition, he has stated that if the police do not tell the media what was in the letter, a friend of his will upload the letter to 4chan tomorrow.

As a result of this mess, police and local authorities have decided to close all secondary and secondary vocational schools in Leiden for the day, and possibly even longer. They needed to take this measure, because the person making the threat is using a proxy and they cannot find him.

Swiss police were the ones who discovered the threat and notified Dutch police, who started an investigation and contacted the FBI in the US

Update: Dutch news is reporting that a suspect has been caught, but that police will still be posting at the schools until more is known.

Why all schools when he said it's going down in the town of Leiden?

Both thread title and the OP clearly state it's all schools in that city, no where does it say all schools in the country though

I hope it's a joke as well and it actually has me worried that a proxy isn't traceable for them

Insane! Who knows how valid those posts/threats on 4chan are, but I'm glad someone caught it and they're doing something about it.

I'm all for freedom of expression on the internet, but I think it's important to draw the line when it comes to threats of violence.

It's just Leiden schools.

Going by Twitter, people over here are actually worried the shooter will go to another city and school or into the city itself. People are really scared from what I get
