Amy Winhouse’s Dad, Mitch reckons that while Beyonce has finally agreed to pay to cover his late daughter's song, Back to Black, he still isn’t too keen on the version.

Beyonce has recorded the cover for the new Great Gatsby film soundtrack however, Mitch is not a fan.

"I don’t think she brings anything to it," he said, adding: "I wasn’t asked for my permission if they could record it."

Mitch has now reluctantly agreed to its use, but insisted:

‘They have got to pay for the privilege, which is what they are doing. I can’t tell you how much it is but it’s a lot of money.’

Beyonce originally came under fire from Mitch Winehouse, who tweeted that she should make a donation to Amy's charity fund after covering her song.

He tweeted a couple of weeks ago: "First I have heard about Beyonce and Back to Black. Sounds like some of you don't like the idea."

At the time, Mitch suggested that the 31-year-old singer should donate a whopping £100,000 to the Amy Winehouse Foundation set up to help youngsters with addiction problems - as well as ALL the royalties.

He added: "I don't know this but what if Beyonce gave £100,000 to foundation. Do you know how many kids that would help? Just putting it out there."

And it would seem Mitch has got his own way.

How is he mean or rude? It's just his opinion. I don't think Amy would've minded Beyoncé covering her song though. It's just that the song was so personal to her. And I think Beyoncé's version completely lacks soul, which ruins it for me.
