Concerns about the new Lupe Fiasco single & album...?
Alright I'm definently with FNF Up but after a few listens to "I Gotcha" (new song) and a few songs on the old album leak I realize that:
I know he went and re-recorded a ot of new songs and stuff but with like 8 new songs, doesn't anyone know which songs are coming off the tracklisting? Some of the songs like "Just Might Be Okay", "GameTime", "Never Lies" & "No Place To Go" definently need to stay on the tracklisting but I know a lot of the songs are going according to a MTV nes thing I read a while back.
And I like "I Gotcha" (I REALLY do) BUT I'e realized that even some GREAT songs aren't always sucessful because of them not being commercial enough. I mean, we all know that some people who suck get more sucess than people who deserve it (i.e. Hilary Duff, ect.0 But the song has ZERO pop appeal, like other songs in the urban market. i'd be pissed if Lupe Fiasc o got beaten chartwise by Dem Franzhise Boys.
So what I'm saying is that even though "I Gotcha" is a good song, it it the right choice for a second single? I was and I'm STILLpulling for "Just Might Be Okay" (which BETTER remain on the tracklisting with the other songs I mentioned).
I'm not crazy for "I Gotcha" but it's alright. I think he'll need a stronger single choice but I think his album will do well in the long run anyway because he has alot of buzz surrounding him.
