At the close of the annual Lionsgate panel at Comic-Con in San Diego, the company debuted a clip from the upcoming horror thrillogy Saw III to a capacity crowd of horror fans.
The clip showed an ex-convict, chained up in a school classroom with the ends of the chain pierced through the skin in his hands, feet, back and mouth. Jigsaw's clown puppet from the previous movies then appeared on a TV screen telling him that he wanted to "play a game" and that this was his chance to get out of the chains that bound him his entire life. At that point, the timer started counting down--it wasn't clear what would happen once it hit--and one-by-one, he began to pull on the chains, ripping them out of his skin in gory fashion. He had all of them out except the one that pierced his mouth, the timer hit 0, and the clip ended.
Before the clip, one of the producers stated that they weren't sure whether all of what was showed to the crowd would make it past the MPAA to get the desired R-rating.
Lionsgate also announced that the first trailer for the horror threequel will appear before their upcoming horror film, The Descent, which opens on August 4.
Saw is one of the best movies ever done. I think the first one was more intelligent than the second one , while the suspense in the second one was better.
Saw is just great. I love them. I can't wait for the 3rd one which is scheduled for Halloween from what I've heard. I wonder if they will keep going with this and make more. That would be interesting to see what they come up with.
