It’s obvious that almost everyone would choose to be filthy rich if they had the option. Yet, they say that money can’t buy happiness. Can you find happiness from your shiny gold coins? Or are there more important things in life?
Well most people's problems are due to either fiscal or social reasons... The main argument would be that money can't buy you real love, friends, a better personality etc. but personally if I had tons of money I don't think I'd care I mean I've been single for so long and it's the least of my worries right now out of having to find a job and pay back my loans...
Now, that's not buying happiness. That's just buying off unhappiness.
I kinda like this quote, it's from Psycho. I agree that it can't buy happiness per-say, but it limits and even erases the things that cause unhappiness in life. So yeah, I guess it does...
Money can buy comfort and ease one's mind. There are so many things you suddenly don't have to worry about any more when you're rich, and I guess that feels like a huge weight being lifted off your shoulders. It must be very liberating and exciting.
However if you're messed up as a person, all the money in the world won't make you happy in the end, because you'll always find ways to put yourself in a bad and unhappy place again. So it can only help so much, it depends on the person too ofc.
It can buy material possessions, financial security and stability (very precious these days) that can bring a degree of happiness. With enough of it, you can probably 'buy' acquaintances (who will never actually be your friends) and even lovers.
