After Candice Glover blew away the competition on the April 10 episode of American Idol, the producers of the hit FOX show have decided that they want her and Amber Holcolm in the finale! HollywoodLife.com can EXCLUSIVELY reveal that after five male winners in a row, the producers are doing “everything in their power” to get Candice and Amber as the final two.
On the April 11 elimination show, Lazaro Arbos was finally eliminated, making Idol history because the final five contestants are all girls — that’s NEVER happened before! And apparently, the producers couldn’t be more thrilled!
“The producers are doing everything in their power to get a finale that consists of Amber and Candice; they want to change the Idol mold that has consisted of a white guy winning, so nothing would be better in their eyes then to have two African American women in the finale,” a source reveals EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com.
How interesting! To be fair, no African American woman, any woman for that matter, has won the show since Jordan Sparks in 2007, so it would be great to see either Candice or Amber win!
Our source also reveals that there was a reason why Candice and Amber were paired together on the April 11 results show, during the group number.
“There was a reason they put Candice and Amber together on the show Thursday, because they want to show America that these are the two they want in the finale.”
Since a number of the guys, who have won in the past five years, are failing to set the Billboard charts alight, it would be great to see a girl win Idol and shake things up!
Amber is really underrated to be honest. I think the main thing holding her back in the competition is because unlike the other females she never received any screen time before the sudden death round. We saw the other girls either during the auditions or during Hollywood Week. It's kinda unfair to her. I remember Stephanie Edwards had the same dilemma a couple of seasons back.
If Candice isn't in the finale, I will boycott. But she needs to win because if she's in the death spot (runner-up) she isn't going to amount to anything after Idol no matter her talent. I don't know who this Kree girl is, however.
