By and large, dance music culture doesn't have the power to induce moral panic like it used to, at least in the western world, but no matter how disparate its strands become, it'll hopefully never lose the power to make people feel totally un****withable; whether that leaves you howling along to Icona Pop's "I Don't Care" with your nipples poking through a yellow mesh vest, or grabbing the mic at a Goan trance party before deciding to spend the summer getting to know London's dubstep scene, which is how Swedish MC/producer Ellinor Olovsdotter says she got started. She's actually part of the same production family as Icona Pop, but as Elliphant, she frays Scandinavian pop precision at the edges to join up to a more global patchwork that runs from Mad Decent affiliates M.I.A. and Maluca to the junkheap magpie nest of Staff Benda Bilili.

I've seen of a photo of Elliphant in a swedish magazine from a friend. She looked so ****ing flawless on the photo so I googled her and found her music. Great to see that she gets attention now! Beautiful girl.
