I mean, the video had a huge premiere and it's following on the heels of huge global smashes like We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble. which both slayed radio and digitally (IKYWT even before its release as a single). 22 has been a single for weeks and is now just lingering in the 20s on iTunes and it is stalling on radio, though the video is already out and she has been promoting it. It looked to be a smash based on its performance when RED was first released. What do you think???

Her label released this song as a single ridiculously early in the year & LEM already pretty much said what I wanted to say. 22 is an absolute summer song.

It was released too soon tbh. People are still using IKYWT. They should have released a country single first and then 22 for the early summer.

This song clearly sounds like a summer smash, I think radio is just letting it rest before its slayage tbh. People are too quick to judge songs. Just look at Give Your Heart A Break, Forget You, and Lights are just a few examples of a song that took ages to take off on radio. Most recently Suit & Tie was not welcomed right away and stalled on pop radio for a few weeks before it took off. Atrl needs to just learn to be patient, not every songs blasts straight to #1. Taylor stans are lucky WANEGBT & IKYWT had abnormally fast climbs on radio, so let her get her sleeper hit

I honestly hope it flops hard so that she gets a reality check and goes back to actual quality music.
