I don't know enough about her, but I know enough to say that I don't agree with her views. Having said that, she was the first woman prime minister, and although her views may differ from mine, Margaret Thatcher deserves respect for her work ethic, accomplishments and dedication to fulfilling and standing for those views she believed in -- HRH Queen Elizabeth II, too.
As sad as this occasion is for some, it's moments/events like this that make me proud to be British. It's historic.
No. The Falkland War was absolutely pointless. So many people killed just to keep a small island to be used for a military base. I know that it might have been strategically important, but in my opinion, nothing justifies the death of innocent people, especially not something trivial like this. And I'm not into privatizing public institutions, it just enhances greed and fuels the gap between rich and poor.
I get the impression of a cold hearted woman with lust for power and I don't really think that's what life's about.
EDIT: I have to give her credit for legalizing same-sex relationships though.

Half of ATRL wasn't born during her leadership. And I'm pretty sure most people here have opinion on her just based on movie. Not saying that movie wasn't good, contrary. But, only people who have lived in her time know what a great woman, prime ministar and politican she was.
Privatisation should be a increased option. Especially with inefficient, wasteful and obviously failing state provided services.
Although she was VERY right, and I see myself more of a One Nation Tory, her Thatcherite views still influence many Conservatives and I still do agree with things that she believed in.

I'm going to very honest here, I knew who she was but I only learned and cared for her when Iron Lady came out.
With that I said, I understand she did very mistakes in her career but in the end, she did what needed to be done.
We really can't judge her and say what she did was wrong because we don't know why she did it.
Politics are always quiet about these kind of subjects but yes I think she should be respect, and I'm not British
I agree with the Falkands war. I loved how she delivered her speeches but I do not agree with her politics but I do like her as a person she was a smart wise woman I used her quotes to tell hoodrats in my hood to get right.
