The singer was set to release the first single "Here's To Never Growing Up" from her upcoming album (TBA) as the follow-up to 2011's "Goodbye Lullaby" but admits the as-yet-untitled offering has been mired in delays, which she blames on producer Martin Johnson and executives at her label RCA.
Despite ongoing problems, she decided to not let her fans down by the worldwide cancellation of her lead single. Instead she proceeded to the re-recording of fan favourite "Candy" which will be given away on her website avrillavigne.com.
"This has been a really difficult record for me. Again, I experienced a bunch of bureaucratic bulls**t like with my last screwed up album. People do their best work when they are doing what they want, love and is natural for them, not when you are forcing them to be something that they are not."
