Rio de Janeiro , Mar 29 (EFE).- Alicia Keys, winner of 14 Grammys, is the latest big name confirmed for September's Rock in Rio music festival.
The Princess of Soul will perform Sept. 15.
"I'm so excited to perform at Rock in Rio. I have been wanting to come and perform in Brazil for a long time and doing so as a part of this legendary festival that brings people together from all over the world is a truly special experience for me," Keys said.
The seven-day musical event unfolds over two successive weekends: Sept. 13-15 and Sept. 19-22. Besides Keys, the lineup for the 2013 edition of Rock in Rio includes Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, John Mayer, Beyonce, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Muse and Iron Maiden.
The 2011 Rock in Rio festival drew 700,000 people with artists that included Metallica, Coldplay, Mana, Snow Patrol, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N' Roses, Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Shakira.
