The Locked Out of Heaven cover isn't bad, but a little lacking.
In some ways, Bridgit Mendler's reggae-tinted vocals are pretty well suited for the song (which is practically a love letter to The Police). However, I think her delivery is a little too polite and reserved, and the cover lacks the sense of intensity and urgency that Bruno brought to it. It's too mellow, and the bare-bones acoustic arrangement doesn't help in that respect.
I like Bridgit, though. I think she's quite talented and I hope to hear more from her in the near future.
She slayed as usual. but I do agree bridgit seems reserved when it comes to performing live. Can't tell if it's the nerves or she's just unsure on taking risks live. Her vibrato>>
edit: does anyone else think the mixing in locked out of heaven sounds weird?

She did seem a little shy, but she's a young performer so that's to be expected.
