Chris brown opens up about Rihanna.
Quote:
Chris revealed to Ryan Seacrest on March 26 that he is ‘eternally grateful and thankful’ that Rihanna forgave him for assaulting her in 2009. Listen to the full radio interview below!
Chris Brown is gearing up for the release of a new album, X, and a new single “Fine China,” which will be released on April 1. And while Ryan Seacrest admits he was initially reluctant to grant Chris an interview on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, due to this assault on Rihanna in 2009, the radio personality/American Idol host decided to give Chris a second chance. We’re so glad he did!
Chris Brown Talks Assault On Rihanna
“People are entitled to their opinions. I can’t go around blaming. It’s all about my responsibility and me growing up as a man. So I think now that I’m becoming older, and trying to mature in this life under the public eye at all times, I have to focus on doing the right thing and being more of a humble individual,” Chris told Ryan on his radio show on March 26.
And the biggest lesson that Chris learned is “that you can lose it all.” He adds, “I’m not just saying fame or stardom because that’s not what it’s about. I’m talking about dignity [and] integrity. You know, you lose yourself in a way. So that process of me having to deal with any trials and tribulations I went through at that time, it was a learning step for me. Everything was learning, and I learned from certain mistakes, and I’m getting better as the days come.”
Chris Brown Was Afraid Rihanna Would Never Forgive Him
Chris also revealed that he was nervous Rihanna would not forgive him for assaulting her. “I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident and that time was probably the worst part of my life and being that she has and she’s a wonderful person I’m eternally grateful and thankful.”
Chris even uses his music to apologize to Rihanna. On Tyga’s song “F*** For The Road,” Chris admits that he made major mistakes in his relationship with Rihanna. This time around, Chris is trying to make things more “fun” and “genuine.”
Chris Brown Makes Sure His Relationship With Rihanna Is ‘Fun’ & ‘Genuine’
Chris added, “It’s still like we’re kids. I try not to be too grown and be like, ‘Lets have candlelight dinner every night.’ I try to make sure everything is fun. It has to be fun and it has to be genuine.”
Does Chris Brown Blame His Youth?
Chris comes across as very insightful and mature when he considers what caused him to make bad decisions in his life, particularly his assault on Rihanna.
“I could put that on my age but that would just be making an excuse. I think for me that at age 18, 19 I was capable of writing and producing songs, so I’m also capable of making the right choices. So I think it’s about a learning process now. Being at that young age I can tell you I was arrogant and definitely hotheaded. Everybody has a temper, but for me it was not knowing how to control it when I thought I had the world in my hands,” Chris told Ryan.
