Destiny's Child's ''Love Songs'' isn't a Greatest Hits album though, it's an album-track compilation, I do agree the release was unnecessary though. Greatest Hits in general aren't, I think it's a nice way to have all your favorite artists songs in one official package.
Or a nice way to introduce one artist to the public audience, for instance, when miss Donna Summer died, I bought one of her last greatest hits with a 2CD pack, and I loved it so much that I started buying all of her studio albums! The same with Janet Jackson or Reba on my avatar
I don't think artists need greatest hits albums until their at least 20 years into their career. That way they may possibly be introduced to a younger audience who doesn't know their music.
Lol. Drama queens in here. If you couldn't even get through 5 seconds of that video how do you get through each and every day? (but really... he could have chosen a better album as the sole example)
Greatest Hits albums are great, I just am not a fan of the tracklists most of the time. Especially since a lot of singers made several singles and I would not leave any out
Watched a documentary about how greatest hits collections emerged during the 70s when oil was low and so vinyls were more expensive to produce. Rather than risk racking up expenses launching stars, labels would rely on packaging up the hits of more established stars.
That has nothing to do with that video but thought I'd share anyway!
