I don't dislike Frank, but Channel Orange is a terrible album.

I'll be expecting a comeback saying something along the lines of "critics disagree"

I actually quite like him but that still doesn't change my opinion of him being the epitome of overrated.

Those saying the album is terrible are probably the most laughable
But it's ok. Let them fume while we enjoy

It's just backlash from all the hype.

And it wasn't just hype from fans and music blogs, he was on many of the 2012 end of the year lists as a critic's darling, and while I enjoy his music (and his face) a part of me wonders how much of that hype is owed to the music itself (which is very understated r&b, polar opposite of mainstream tastes) and how much is because of his coming out letter and the overflow of media coverage that it (and his silence on the matter) invited.

He's lame and his music is wack.

I was actually just thinking this earlier today in that Miguel thread.

What kills me is that people STILL argue that he came out just to boost his album sales. As if the mainstream urban music scene is welcoming of the LGBT.

He is the only gay artist with decent music at the moment and the homos give him the most grief

I never found the appeal in his music, I thought he was actually more of a bandwagon for praise and acclaim then hated.

He just happened to be the token black guy, plus he was gay too so why not kill two birds with one shot.
