Interesting, what films do you think are more iconic?

I think it is. Just the sheer cultural impact, almost everything about the movie is engrained in the minds of so many people.

like i said, it's one of the most iconic pieces of work in film, a fool would say otherwise. there have been a million references from it, it's a classic story that has been reworked and retold throughout the decades. hell there was a book and a Broadway musical based on a fictious prequel to it.
but Disney movies have as much impact as Wizard of Oz has, yet only a select few of those would ever be considered iconic. movie buffs and critics have also debated over the years that classics like Casablanca, Gone With The Wind and Citizen Lane are more iconic, there's just no way of measuring a movie's iconic status.
for me, i like and appreciate way too many movies to say for sure what i think is the most iconic. but Wizard of Oz is definitely in my top 5 i'm not gonna lie. EDIT: Breakfast Club might be more iconic than this though...
