Have Godsmack seriously been #1 for that long? That's not what Billboard's website has been saying for the past couple of weeks. Regardless, that song is not good at all. It's very bland and predictable, but then again, that's what radio wants these days.
A little late on 30 Seconds to Mars, are we? That song was very below-average when it was new and now it's just blah. Lostprophets have a great new song out, and it's cool to see AFI doing well.
Hoobastank, need to give up, I think. "Inside of You" is okay but I'm not sure why--blah, I don't know. I'm not making sense right now. *_*

But 12 weeks is almost unheard of on that format. I've enjoyed the 30 Seconds to Mars disc since its release, but The Kill wasn't my favorite choice for release. But has "Speak" been there for 12 weeks? Seriously? Billboard.com are making a mistake for the #1 position on Mainstream Rock then, because Red Hot Chili Peppers have been there for awhile.

Not only that, but the Peppers are #1 on BOTH formats that Billboard counts for the "Mainstream Rock" chart. There's no way that Speak will be #1 next week.

All indications point to Speak dropping off pretty quickly. But I've been guessing that since it had its 9th week at #1. Somehow it just keeps going. I'd be VERY surprised if it logs 13 weeks atop. Glad to help.

I'd prefer to ask where you got this info from "Billboard". I assume the mag. Even so, it's not updated right at the moment like Mediabase is.
There are only two reliable radio readouts, and that's the ones from R&R and Mediabase. R&R has Speak at #1, but by only five spins. And TDG isn't #5, Korn is, even though it's close.

Billboard Mainstream Rock shows RHCP at #1, not Godsmack. They can have all the spins in the f‘cking world, but Billboard.com does not show Godsmack at #1. I know, it's hard to take in all at once, but you'll live. You always go out of your way to make me look like an idiot, but I think everyone knows who that really is. So excuse me while I go get beat up by big, tough macho men at a Godsmack concert for wearing a Lacuna Coil shirt, that would just prove how cowardly those types of fans really are. Pathetic and idiotic, just like Godsmack's music.

Hold on, hold on. I know what Smash is talking about. He's apparently talking about Active Rock(*cough*Mediabase*cough*), not necessarily Album Rock, because Godsmack WAS still #1 until the Peppers just overtook them a few days ago. That's not a lie.
Billboard's "Mainstream Rock" chart combines both Active and Heritage/Album Rock into one, and THAT is why the Peppers are #1 on that chart, because the Peppers have a big enough lead on Album Rock radio that it coincides with their close #2 finish from the past chart week.
So yeah. Peppers WILL be #1 next week on Active Rock, though.

I really wouldn't care if Godsmack had 22 weeks on top, they've been out of ideas since the second album and honestly, I hear no change or growth in the music after that. It's the same **** everytime, and bands like that eventually die out in the long run (Staind are on their way, thankfully.) Then again, that's more than half the bands who hit #1 on Active Rock/Mainstream Rock.
If you want to limit success to chart positions, tell me how much Godsmack sold when they debuted at #1, and then tell me the same for Tool. Hell, even Pearl Jam sold more than Godsmack, and they were #2. Red Hot Chili Peppers? Definitely sold more than Godsmack in the first week. Even without those sales, all of those bands are bigger than Godsmack and everyone knows it. And, dude, Billboard RadioMonitor, nobody gives a f‘ck about! I don't see that listed with Billboard Mainstream or Modern Rock. Those are the charts everyone follows, last time I checked.

Billboard RadioMonitor is the only source Billboard magazine uses for its charts. So I'm not sure what your complaint there is. You wouldn't have any Billboard airplay charts without RadioMonitor. Godsmack sucks in your opinion. You've made that clear at least twice on these boards. So please don't listen to them. Luckily your opinion won't take away any of their success. That's Mainstream Rock because Godsmack haven't come close to #1 on Modern Rock to begin with. [At least that format has a little sense sometimes.] And if you have an issue with RHCP having only one more #1 single than Godsmack, Godsmack have only one more #1 album than RHCP, not to mention only one more #1 single than Pearl Jam, so I don't know what you're trying to prove here.
Based on music alone--you'd get laughed at if you think Godsmack is the better band of the 3. Common sense. RHCP and PJ are both very influential, respected, and have been around for at least 15 years [in the mainstream.] I'm not gonna say anything about Godsmack, because there really isn't anything to say at all!
