I agree in a sense. Especially with cyberbullying. I mean, you always have control over whether youwant to see content that's aimed against you.

I don't understand cyberbullying. Can't you just block them, log off, create an alias. It's avoidable.
Someone explain it to me please.

Oftentimes the damage will have already been done. Logging off after seeing hate online is akin to walking away after being insulted; just because you've removed yourself from the situation doesn't mean what you've been subjected to stops bothering you all of a sudden.
I also think what kicks cyberbullying up to a new level is the fact that it's so publicized. How absolutely mortifying must it be to know that all of your peers can see the horrible things that have been said about you?

And I feel like the relative anonymity and sense of security being behind a screen provides inspires aggressors to be way harsher.
It's literally nonstop (as in, it doesn't end when you get home from school) and it takes on a much bigger audience, so I don't think y'all should underestimate cyberbullying. I know I'm glad I've never had to deal with it.
