Naomi Campbell is the new Simon Cowell of reality TV!!!
Quote:
NAOMI CAMPBELL is set to become modelling’s Simon Cowell – with a show hunting for new catwalk stars.
The Face borrows bits of The X Factor and Britain’s Next Top Model to find a talent for a major fashion brand.
The supermodel will be one of the coaches, who each guide wannabes through a series of tasks.
Each week, one contestant is axed — until a winner is found. The show is already on in the US, where Naomi is a coach alongside fellow supermodels Coco Rocha and Karolina Kurkova.
Naomi has been praised by critics for her “kind” approach to wannabes.
A source said: “Naomi has been a revelation. The deal isn’t done but it should be on air later this year.”
Sky Living have bought the show rights but a source said it did not mean the end of the channel’s Britain’s Next Top Model programme.
Anyway, y'all... Coco is my fave judge. #noshame Such a shame, Marlee had to leave the show for financial reasons and Britanny getting eliminated in one episode.
But damn Naomi knows what to tell to her models and I'm loving all those smirks she's giving to Coco and Karolina after she eliminated their contestants...
Naomi's flair for the dramatic serves the show well. Naturally, she, Coco and Karolina are the main attraction, but I think, unfortunately, the model mentors become the focus at the expense of the rest of the show. ANTM works, in large part, because its supporting cast members are expected to have as much personality as Tyra herself. The Face tells us nothing about its plain Jane competitors. (Seriously, they could not have picked a more homely—or in some cases haggard—bunch of girls!) And when we are fortunate enough to get a revealing moment, it's always a treat. Who knew foul-faced Christy was such a delusional **** before her mean-spirited farewell confessional? Loudmouth Sandra could easily hold her own against any of Tyra's most memorable idiots. I'm sure a few of the other girls have personalities of some sort.
Still, Naomi is the incontestable star. Her pettiness and antics are endlessly entertaining. Her no-nonsense approach to her role as a mentor is one I greatly appreciate. There's no need to baby these girls. They must be whipped into shape. I got such a thrill during last week's elimination when she admonished both girls for attempting to tug at her heartstrings with their sob stories — a ploy that would serve one well on ANTM, and might have actually worked had Coco or Karolina had the final say in who went home.
