It's possibly due to cost, since Palmdale is in a flat area unlike Riverside, it would cost less to link the transit from Vegas to that "remote" place. If they were to connect it to Riverside, they would have to zig-zag through the mountain also, which would mean expensive construction.

Architecture student, but I think I'm slowly losing interest

Same. I started losing interest right in the middle of getting my AA (I just received my AA btw). It's not like I'm a horrible student, I pretty much aced all my classes (except for one class, I got a B

). However, I've been taking architecture class since my high school freshman, so I've been studying architecture for more than half a decade, maybe that could be one of the reasons why my interest waned. It was fun learning new software though (RevIT, AutoCad, Sketchup). As of right now, I have no intention in pursuing a BA, I'm just lucky enough that I made a decision to go to a community college first instead of jumping right into a university because I knew I wouldn't be able to hold my interest
I still love architecture though

, and I'd probably continue my education later on but as of right now, I don't see myself being part of the industry.

WARNING: Decide for your own, don't let my post stop you from looking into pursuing a career in architecture. My advice, whether you've taken architecture classes in high school or not, do further research about it (interview your teachers/professionals and/or do job shadow). Who knows, it could be for you. Stay positive

.
Anyway, to answer your question. These are probably some of the reasons as to why some drop out of it.
1. Some may have a romanticized idea of being an architect. Maybe they thought they could be the next Pei or Wright once they get their diploma. Truth of the matter is, only a few become the next "starchitect."
2. Just like with many others who try to belittle architects as people who just draw, they probably thought that it would be just drawing buildings and houses. However, it's not, architects have a lot of responsibility and you have a lot of people (from different fields) working for you. If your design fails, fingers will almost always points at you.
3. The long arduous process of getting a license.
4. Unemployment rate (although you can certainly avoid that by creating networks during your schooling). It could improve later on though.

Me myself, I'm considering Architecture,Interior Design,or Graphic Design.

I'm planning on going back and get a certificate in Graphic Design since it's the one that really interest me the most at the moment. However, I'm dirt poor

.
Although, I'm actually planning on starting a small design studio and a print shop, I'm experienced enough in Photoshop & Illustrator and knew enough Dreamweaver and In Design to hopefully get me through. It would be cool to start it with someone more experienced in web design though.
