I was thinking about it the other day and to be honest, this social networking site/popular blogging site is pretty central to today's youth culture. It gives young people a place to voice their opinions and express themselves. It inspires a lot of social trends. It can be argued that it inspired a fashion trend or two. And most damningly, it is a hub for new music and artists + new images. Lana Del Rey, Frank Ocean, (I think) Azealia Banks, The Weeknd, (I think) Drake and many others (with primarily teen and young adult fanbases) can all attribute their rise in popularity to tumblr. Tumblr is the best place (next to Twitter) to get closer to your favorite celebrities.

These are all things MTV (Music Television) did 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years ago. Is tumblr at all similar in how it has impacted the younger generation?
