I get what you mean. She has this certain voice and lyric style that I feel you either love or hate. She's misunderstood in my opinion.

No, she's just a flop.

No. She changed her whole sound for Electra Heart to be mainstream and she still couldn't attract the GP. Some times some artists just don't connect with the GP. Which sucks because she totally deserves the success she isn't getting.

Yes and no. Ellie managed to break through, even though she's a "different" popstar. But she did it because she has one direction for her sound. Marina is too undecisive. If she followed the path of "Mowgli's Road" or the completely different path of "Hollywood" and "Primadonna" she would've been more successful. While both sides to her music are great (ok, maybe I hate Primadonna and HTBAH but they're good pop songs), they're too.. polarized? (idk how to say that in English, really) And let's remember

Electra Heart is the definition of mainstream.

Kinda sad considering she could've been at the top of the charts right now if she stayed making alternative pop like she used to, but I guess that's what she gets for being a sellout.

She is very mainstream her songs sound as any song in top 40 today, her sound isn't something different typical pop songs.
