..... It's in english in most countries.
It was quite a ignorant/exploitive way, focusing on the ordeal of a small group of "western" tourists, to depict the large scale disaster that killed hundred of thousands including large amount of locals. It under-proportionally represented the true consequences of the Tsunami.
Moreover, the characters were underdeveloped. The melodrama and dialogue of the family that was suposed to be inspiring went straight into a story of coincidence and cliché after the water hit. When being Compared to the Juan Antonio Bayona's prior work The Orphanage which is genuinely subtle in the conveyance of emotions, The Impossible feels corny.
Praise-worthy parts of the film is the acting of Naomi Watts and Tom Holland. And the well-recreated Tsunami.
