Gunther: "The results 'shows us that people are fixated on the activities of pop culture icons.'"
The pop princess Britney Spears tops again, for the third time in four years, the 2005 Yahoo list of the most-searched for terms on the Internet.
According to Yahoo's spokesperson, despite the fact that the singer didn't release a new album or a hit this year, she was in the media attention during the pregnancy period and especially after she gave birth to her baby boy, Sean Preston Federline.
Nevertheless, the rumors about her marriage problems with her husband, dancer Kevin Federline, also boosted on the front pages of the worldwide tabloids.
"Buzz Index guru" Erik Gunther declared in a statement that the search results "shows us that people are fixated on the activities of pop culture icons."
Spears was followed by rapper 50 Cent, the Cartoon Network, diva Mariah Carey, punk band Green Day, Jessica Simpson, sexy socialite Paris Hilton, Eminem, Ciara and Lindsay Lohan.
